About the bank
In March 1885, the first Savings Fund in the territory of present-day Tajikistan began operating in Khujand.
In 1900, these funds were merged and renamed the State Savings Fund.
In 1925, the State Savings Fund was first established under the Commissariat of Finance of Tajikistan, which is known as the birth date of the State Savings Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan "Amonatbank".
For example, in 1987, the State Savings Fund of Workers was transformed into the State Savings Bank of Workers (Sberbank of the USSR), and in this context, the State Savings Fund of Workers of the Tajik SSR was transformed into the State Savings Bank of Workers, and in 1990, along with other savings banks of the Soviet Union after its collapse, the State Savings Bank of Workers of the Tajik SSR became the property of the newly independent Republic of Tajikistan.
In January 1992, on the basis of the Savings Bank of the Workers of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Savings Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan was established, and on November 26, 1998, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 1123, the Savings Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan was granted the status of a state bank, and today it is known throughout the republic and abroad as the State Savings Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan "Amonatbonk".
